Displaced by the 9800X3D at the top of gaming charts, but only barely and often for less money. Excellent choice if the 9800X3D is out of stock or priced badly.
Verdict — Ryzen 9 7950X
Superseded by the 9950X and 9950X3D but still a great deal on the used market for productivity workloads. Runs at 95°C sustained — that's normal on Ryzen 7000, not a defect.
