Display & Pixel Test

Find dead or stuck pixels, check colour reproduction, look for gradient banding, and inspect backlight uniformity and bleed — full-screen, entirely in the browser. Best viewed in a dark room. Wipe the screen first so dust isn't mistaken for a dead pixel.

Run the test

Opens full-screen. Click or press → for next, ← for previous, A to auto-cycle, Esc to exit.

How to read it

A quick guide while you inspect each screen

Dead pixel

Stays black on every screen, including white and the bright colours. It receives no signal and never lights up. Usually permanent.

Stuck pixel

Shows a fixed red, green or blue dot that doesn't change between screens. Often fixable — cycling colours, gentle pressure, or a pixel-exerciser can sometimes revive it.

Banding

On the smooth gradients, look for visible steps or stripes instead of a seamless fade. Heavy banding suggests 6/8-bit colour or aggressive compression; light banding is normal on 8-bit panels.

Uniformity & bleed

On grey, watch for clouding or patches that look brighter/darker. On the black screen in a dark room, glowing edges or corners are backlight bleed / IPS glow.

Refresh rate & frame pacing

How many frames your display actually delivers per second, and how evenly they're spaced (low jitter = smooth).
Refresh
Avg frame
Jitter
Dropped
Targets: 60 Hz ≈ 16.7 ms, 120 Hz ≈ 8.3 ms, 144 Hz ≈ 6.9 ms, 240 Hz ≈ 4.2 ms. The browser samples at the display's rate, so this reads true refresh — but keep this tab focused (background tabs are throttled) and note a VRR/G-Sync display may report a variable number.

UFO / ghosting test

A moving object at your refresh rate to reveal smearing, ghosting and overdrive artifacts. Follow the object with your eyes (pursuit) — trails or a faint second edge behind it are ghosting.
